This is Tara! She's a sweet, energetic girl we rescued from animal control last week. She is 28 lbs and about a year old. The pictures don't do her short little legs justice, she is long and low to the ground :) She is very friendly, and has done well with other dogs she's been introduced to so far. Let us know if you'd like to meet this lovely lady! This pet tested negative for heartworms. Her adoption fee includes a physical exam, her fecal exam, her dewormings, all of her vaccines (including DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella, and Influenza), a microchip, and her spay.
UPDATE 3/20/14: Hi everyone! So w'ere sad to report that Tara has been returned to the program once again. Her new owners felt terrible about it, but she wasn't the right fit for their family. They wanted us to know some things about her to make it easier to find her the appropriate home, so we're going to share them with you: 1)she shows NO signs of aggression, but she does play rough. She needs training to work on jumping and on being "mouthy" with people when she's playing. 2)She does like to steal anything she considers chewable that is on a level where she can reach it. She readily allows you to remove it from her mouth however. 3) she is high energy, so she'll need regular exercise, and basic training. She is a smart girl, and has already learned to sit. 4) she didn't have any issues with pottying in the house or in the crate, and she stayed in the crate at night without making a peep. 5) she will bark at passerbys when in the house or on a walk 6) she does like to dig 7)she does like other dogs and loves to play with them (this info is from us actually :) ). So if you have a young dog that likes to wrestle and tumble with other dogs, it would be a good way for both Tara and your current pet to get some of that excess energy out. All in all, she's a sweet, loveable girl that will still require the time and effort a new puppy would, simply because she's never received it before. We know the right home is out there, it's just a matter of finding it
